You never know what you’re going to get, moving to a new place. Obviously, we’d fallen for the small, beautiful South Island town on our honeymoon seven years ago, and reminded ourselves of that in April of last year. But still, the decision to move to Oamaru, to leave Auckland after years, wasn’t easy but it was the right decision.

This place is wonderful. Everything is a five-minute drive or a ten-minute cycle. We live on a hill…
